// EXPANDED CRITIQUE

I just finished reading Dragonfly Falling and I'm still reeling from the experience! One of the things that kept me on the edge of my seat was the unpredictability - at no point did I have any idea what was going to happen next. The author is a master of misdirection, dropping subtle clues here and there without making it feel like I was being led by the nose. It took me a while to adjust to this style, but once I got into the rhythm, I was hooked. And then there's Totho - ugh, what a piece of work! I won't go into too much detail, but let's just say he's earned himself a permanent spot on my "most annoying characters" list. But hey, that's all part of what made this book so compelling. The world-building is top-notch, and the way the author wove together the different plot threads was nothing short of genius. Overall, I'm SO EXCITED FOR THE SPIDERLANDS (yes, that's really what they're called) and I can't wait to dive back into this series.

Original Micro-Review: "At no point did I have any idea what was going to happen next, but I'm SO EXCITED FOR THE SPIDERLANDS. Also, Totho can kiss my butt. Jerk. This year's reading is off to a fantastic start! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"
