// EXPANDED CRITIQUE

I'm still reeling from the conclusion of THE PRICE OF SPRING, Book 4 in Daniel Abraham's epic fantasy series. What I love most about this installment is how it expertly weaves together all the threads and storylines from previous books, delivering a satisfying payoff that had me grinning from ear to ear. The world-building is as rich as ever, with clever nods to the first three books that made me feel like I was revisiting old friends. If you're familiar with Fonda Lee's JADE CITY duology, you might detect some similar themes and atmospheric vibes in THE PRICE OF SPRING – both series share a gritty, morally complex tone that keeps you on your toes. While my only quibble is the somewhat rushed conclusion (I wanted just a bit more resolution!), this minor complaint didn't detract from my overall enjoyment of the series. With its well-developed characters, pulse-pounding action, and thought-provoking exploration of power and identity, THE PRICE OF SPRING is an absolute must-read for fans of fantasy.

Original Micro-Review: "This is one of the better series I've ever read, with Book 4 solidifying itself as an amazing series. It has some Jade City vibes, if you like that. One quibble with the ending, but otherwise really loved the series. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"
