Book Cover: THE FALL OF HYPERION

// EXPANDED CRITIQUE

I mean, seriously, what's not to love about this sequel? The Fall of Hyperion picks up exactly where The Rise of Endymion left off, and boy, does it ever get wild from there. I was already invested in the story after the first book, but Simmons somehow managed to ratchet up the stakes and the craziness to a whole new level. I mean, we're talking time travel, alien invasions, interstellar politics - you name it, this book's got it. But what really kept me hooked (pun intended) was the way Simmons wove all these different threads together. The characters from the first book are back, but they're not the only ones getting in on the action. New players enter the scene, and just when I thought I had a handle on what was going on, something else would blow up or go ka-boom. It's like Simmons took all my favorite sci-fi tropes, threw them into a blender, and hit puree - and I loved every minute of it!

Original Micro-Review: "Picks up right where the first book left off, and it gets even crazier. I was hooked and couldn't put it down. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"
