I devoured BOUND BY BLOOD so quickly because it's got that perfect blend of action, humor, and heart. Lindsay Buroker's got this amazing ability to balance the light-hearted moments with some seriously intense stakes - I was fully invested in Arwen and friends as they took on those dark elves! The banter between characters is always spot-on, had me chuckling out loud, and the way she just leans into her own brand of quirky humor is pure magic. It's like she's inviting you to join the party, and I am HERE. FOR. IT.
What really sets BOUND BY BLOOD apart though is how Lindsay doesn't take herself too seriously - she knows when to have fun and not get too caught up in the seriousness of it all. Her style is just infectious, you know? It's like she's given permission for readers to relax and enjoy the ride, rather than getting bogged down in overly complicated plots or angsty characters. I mean, don't get me wrong, there's still plenty of excitement and drama - but it's never at the expense of the story's overall tone. And that's why I went straight to book 2, eager to see what kind of shenanigans Arwen and company get up to next!
Original Micro-Review: "Went straight to book 2, following Arwen and friends as they hunt down more dark elves. I love the banter, the silliness, and how much Lindsay just embraces her style. ⭐⭐⭐⭐"
