I mean, what's not to love? Lindsay Buroker has done it again, crafting a tale that's equal parts action-packed adventure and heartwarming character development. Arwen and Azerdash might not be the original dynamic duo from Death before Dragons, but they're quickly winning me over with their quirks and charm. And let's not forget that semi-sentient lawnmower – I mean, who wouldn't want a ride-on buddy that can slice through tough grass and maybe even save your bacon in a pinch? It's the little details like these that make Pursued by Peril such an enjoyable read. What really sets this book apart, though, is how seamlessly Buroker weaves together her unique blend of science fiction, fantasy, and humor. The world-building is top-notch, with just enough mystery to keep me hooked and curious about what's coming next. And the characters? Forget about it – Arwen and Azerdash are just as lovable (in their own ways) as Val and Zavryd. All in all, Pursued by Peril has everything I love about a great read: excitement, humor, and a healthy dose of "what's next?" factor.

Original Micro-Review: "Look, what can I say? I can't get enough of Val and Zavryd from Death before Dragons, but Arwen and Azerdash are fast becoming favorites. Plus, who amongst us doesn't want a semi-sentient lawnmower? ⭐⭐⭐⭐"
