So I went into Project Hail Mary expecting more of the same cleverness and wit that made The Martian such a blast. And yeah, Andy Weir delivers again! The story's got all the right stuff: an interesting premise, likable characters, and some seriously tense moments when things start to go south. I was hooked from the get-go.
Now, I know some folks might find the protagonist, Dr. Richter, a bit...grating. And honestly, I can see why. His constant stream-of-consciousness narration does get old fast (I mean, who talks like that?!). But for me, it's just part of his charm – and besides, the payoff is so worth it when you finally figure out what's going on and how he plans to save humanity. So yeah, Project Hail Mary gets a solid thumbs-up from me!
Original Micro-Review: "After The Martian, I had high hopes. I really enjoyed the story. I found the voice a bit irritating, but all's well that ends well, eh? Great book. Now I want a meburger... ⭐⭐⭐⭐"
